While the world is going through a lot of emotional turmoil, dealing with everything coming up from the depths of the collective sub-psyche we are about to witness a very rare and auspicious event in the celestial realms. The Super Full Moon of November 14th will bring in some auspicious energies and I thought you might want to be aware of it ahead of time to consciously invite in, prepare for and use this event for transformation and illumination. The Super Full Moon will occur 10:52 am ET, 1:52 pm PT and 4:52 am CET. So you might wish to go out for a walk Sunday or Monday night or wake up very early in the morning and meditate, sing, dance, light a candle or connect with this energy in any way you like. Remember even though the moon is always full for just one moment in time the effect of the full moon is palpable for 3 days; about 1-2 days before and after the full moon. Full Moon is always a time of intensity, of expansion and illumination. It is a time when every nook and cranny of the subconscious is flooded with the sun’s light reflected by the moon that directly affects our bodies, our emotions, our oceans, fields, crops…shortly all life on our planet.
This next Full Moon will be the closest, thus the biggest in 68 years! It will appear 14% bigger and 30% brighter than usual, being the largest Super Full Moon since 1948. If that is not enough incentive for you to honor this time you should know that the next time the moon will be this close to the Earth will be November 25th, 2034. In The Old Farmer’s Almanac November’s full moon is also referred to as the full Frost Moon yet I did some research on this one and let me tell you, there is truly nothing frosty about it! Here’s what I found out:
In traditional astrology this Full Moon is in the sign of Taurus where the Moon is exalted and in its favorite, most ecstatic, pleasurable state. The full moon in the Earth sign of Taurus merges with the Earth, touches it with all senses and feels everything. The Goddess of Love aspect of the Divine Feminine is at is climax; She is most receptive, in Her fullest, her senses are heightened, sensuality is at its peak and earthly sensual pleasures abound. As we know the Full Moon intensifies everything, lighting up the deepest, darkest corners of human psyche giving us the option to embody more of our light.
Aphrodite, by Herbert Draper
In India this Full Moon is revered as the day when Lord Shiva, known as the destroyer of darkness, slayed all demons. In Vedic Astrology it falls in the area of the sky where the fire element resides. This Super Moon promises to burn up all that does not serve humanity, all the debris if we let it. It is a great opportunity to let all the shock, grief, anger, rage, disappointment, powerlessness that came up in the collective recently be transmuted by the fire of the burning moon and let all the demons of ignorance be slayed by Lord Shiva.
Meanwhile on planet Earth there is a lot of coercion, deception, mistrust, pretense and secrecy happening these days so this Super Full Moon energy is perfect for us just now. It is hard to know what is real and what not when we watch the news and read the newspapers. Things happen and then turn out to be fake, many things happen outside of public view and hardly make it to the news. Some things appear to be irrefutable truth and yet we feel in our bones something is off. People try to prove their rightness by plastering their Facebook pages with information or opinions of sorts. People try to persuade themselves and others that it is not as bad as it looks and that political leaders are spiritual teachers in disguise. Many are trying to find a stable, safe ground to stand on in a landslide of rapid change. There is a lot of misinformation and miscommunication going on that distort and cloud our vision, our clarity and it seems to be impossible to tell real from unreal by looking at the out-picturing world. There are many inducing fear and worry of sorts by highlighting the lowest future possibilities. There is a state of chaos in so many ways in the collective. In the truest sense we cannot trust what we see.
Regardless what is going on in the outside world and regardless what our minds might make out of it we need to let the outside world be the outside world, keep the emotional roller coaster out and dance to our own inner music. We need to let the old world die as gracefully as it is able to and hold the space for something New. We need to hold on to our own sanity and to the Love in our hearts. The only reliable source of Truth now and always is our Heart and our bodies that always tell us when something is not true. We are called to not believe what we see, what we hear, the only source of reality for the mind. We need to bypass our minds, what most of the world believes is real and see with our hearts. Needless to say this is not the easiest of tasks. Yet we keep doing what is ours to do: To not believe what we see but to believe what we know is true in our hearts. And keep knitting L ❤️ v E! 🙂
Happy Full Moon, dear ones!
